St Mark's Basilica was painted in Venice, Italy on St Mark's square on Plein air in September 2018.
I stand up to paint on the famous St Mark's square, wanted to paint this picture exactly there. When the picture was at this stage, an Italian policeman approached me and said that it was impossible to draw here and that I should leave immediately... I actually got offended at first, but then I realized that he was right. There was no need to draw anymore, so he saved this job. Later this picture was printed on the cover of the book - EL MERCADER DE VENECIA by William Shakespeare in Mestas Ediciones in Spain, and now it is on sale around the world.
Denis Kuvayev (Full name - Denis Borisovich Kuvayev) was born in Mykolaiv, Ukraine on Jan 22, 1971. He has been painting since childhood. Denis became a professional artist in the 1990s, getting his inspiration from travels around the world. From this time he lived and worked in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Rome Italy, Vancouver Canada, Barcelona Spain, and Paris France. The first personal exhibition of Denis Kuvaev named "The Time of Fire" took place in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1999 and consisted mainly of abstract paintings in red and white colors.
