About Denys Kuvaiev

Denys Kuvaiev Denis Kuvayev (Full name - Denis Borisovich Kuvayev) was born in Mykolaiv, Ukraine on Jan 22, 1971. He has been painting since childhood. Denis became a professional artist in the 1990s, getting his inspiration from travels around the world. From this time he lived and worked in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Rome Italy, Vancouver Canada, Barcelona Spain, and Paris France. The first personal exhibition of Denis Kuvaev named "The Time of Fire" took place in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1999 and consisted mainly of abstract paintings in red and white colors. The second personal art exhibit took place in 2001 in Rome, Italy, where Denis lived for five years. The title of the exhibition was “The Procession of Fishes” in which the theme of fish occupied the main place. The third solo exhibition took place a year later in Rome and was called "World Without Borders", which featured mainly Roman cityscapes. These first three solo exhibitions influenced the further development of Denis's work, in which three themes remain to this day - abstraction, fish - sea, and cityscape, sometimes intertwined with each other. In 2018 a Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia published an article about famous artists of all time - "Ocho paisajes que inspiraron a famosos pintores". On the article cover was a painting of Denis Kuvayev which prompted the artist to declare: "I accepted the honor and took upon the challenge to create outstanding works." Denis Kuvayev is recognized for his paintings featured on CD covers, book covers, magazines, clothing lines, etc. As an example, one of his paintings was displayed on the Naxos CD cover of the Respighi - Roman Trilogy of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with JoAnn Falletta - Grammy Awards Winner in 2019.
